The Great Indian Bustard (*Ardeotis nigriceps*) is one of the heaviest flying birds in India and are found in dry drassland and scrubland on the indian sub continent, with larget population found in rajasthan.(Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2024)

They are tall birds with long legs and long necks, reaching a stand up height of 1.2 meters. they have black feathers on top of their head, with a whittish neck, breast and underparts, along with brownish wings. They usually feed on any palatable food in their immediate surroundings.(Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2024)

the main cause of their endangerment has been the habitat loss and the degradation Due to a lot of road building mining activities their habitat has been diturbed, with also a hand in poaching and hunting of them.(Encyclopaedia Britannica, 2024)
