Sea Mink

The Sea Mink (*Neovison macrodon*) is a recently extinct species that resided on isles of shoals in new hamisphere to new brunswick.(Olson, 2024)
they were twice the size of the american sea minks, their close relative. they were highly desired for their expensive red pelt. they used live on rock dens along the shore, and spent most of their time hunting for fishes.(Olson, 2024)
the main cause of their extermination became their overhunting for the pelt, these sea minks were prodded out of their with crow bars or dogs then shot. as the price of the mink rose, they were hunted more and grew scarer and went extinct by mid 1800's.(Olson, 2024)
